Like This...

This is what I have in my head for my newly acquired vintage chair...

Decor Love

Painting on the back wall=love. This is a great idea for a large painting. Simply have canvas vertical and drip paint down in specific colors. I will do this once our house is done:)

Will be making this piece of art soon.

REALLY REALLY REALLY want to make these for under a table in the living room. They could be used for extra seating and/or tables. LOVE!

Realy want a double twin guest room!

Really like the idea of one fun colored wall in a wood grain for a bathroom.

I think I will have to do this in our entry too cute!

Hate wall paper because I just had to remove a whole room of it...ahhhh! But love the idea for inside closet/cabinets. Or my very favorite is in a free standing closet in a baby's room...that equals pure love!

Living Room Love

Very cozy, lived in look.

Love this roman shade idea for our front room

love this colorful living room, Warren would you mind?

So awesome

New Favorite Blog!!!!

Check out her living room...ahhh I can not wait till our construction is done!!

But until our living space is ready for decoration...I will drool and find awesome ideas to use when it is ready!!

Great idea for hiding the T.V. Warren you just may be able to put the TV above the fireplace. I still said MAYBE;)

So maybe...just maybe...there will be less baby focus and more decor ideas...MAYBE;D

Oh So Cute

Look at these awesome baby sets. They are pure love in a bundle of joy!

How To

Make shades out of mini blinds...so awesome!

Here are the basic instructions.

--Supplies--
Tape measure
Scissors
Fabritac (or comparable fabric glue - NOT HOT GLUE!)
Mini blinds (like the $3 Target mini blinds)
Fabric (yardage depends on the size of your window)
Trim (optional)

1. Measure you windows carefully. Then do some math and figure out how many folds you want in your shade. I like the look of a fold every 9 inches, which meant I only needed 6 slats for my small windows.

2. Let out the blinds all the way, making them the longest they can be. Carefully cut away all of the thin tilting/ladder-like strings, being very careful not to cut the thicker lift cord. I simply ran my scissors along the top of the slats, cutting away the tilt strings and avoiding the lift string altogether.

3. Take out the plastic plugs from the bottom of the miniblinds and remove and put aside the thick bottom slat piece (you'll need this later). Then simply pull off most of the slats, while leaving the few you'll need for the folds of the shade. Like I mentioned before, I only needed six slats for my shade.

4. Make sure the blinds are still let out all the way. Measure carefully and reinstall the thick bottom slat so that the length of your window and the full length of the shade are roughly the same. I decided to make my shade about 1" longer than my window measurement. Just to make sure it would be long enough.

Trim the extra cord away off the bottom.

Now cut out your fabric, using the shade skeleton as your pattern and leaving a 2.5 inch (or so) border on all sides.

5. Congrats! You're done with the hard part! You should have something that looks like this:

It's time to start gluing.

6. Start with the top of the shade. Fold over and glue the fabric together to make a clean edge and glue that to the front of the big top rail mount. **NOTE: Do not glue the folded hem to the very ends of the rail mount. You need to be able to slip the rail into the wall-mounted brackets, so the fabric needs to stay unglued on the very ends.

7. Measure 9" (or your preferred fold length) from the top of the rail. Adjust and glue a slat into place. Continue all the way down, gluing the slats to the fabric. I glued the rounded, convex side of the slat to the fabric so there was more slat-to-fabric contact. Make sure not to glue the lift cord to the slats or the fabric.

8. Glue, turn in and glue again the three other sides of the shade to finish off all the edges. Let it all dry.

9. (Optional) Glue on some trim to the bottom slat. I picked up some super, super tiny ball trim at JoAnn's for less than $1 a yard. (only needed one yard)

10. Hang up the shades just like hanging up mini blinds. The cord still functions the same way and, as long as you didn't glue the lift cord to your slats or fabric, the shade should lift and fold beautifully.

Here's my finished shade. The fabric is a blue-gray burlap that I bought a while back on eBay for about $6.50 a yard. I think I used about a yard and a half total for two shades, but I have small windows.

I'm happy with the look of the burlap. The dark color helps with light control (it filters), but I still feel like the room is bright and cheerful when the shades are down. It's a good balance for me. Some of you might want to add black-out fabric to the backs of your shade to completely block out the light. It'd be like living in a hotel.

awesome!

After Christmas Shopping Wrap-up

I found some awesome deals and a couple very cute shirts!! Yay. Pictures once the Internet is up:)

After our morning of shopping our men's wanted to go to a movie and not just any movie. AVATAR and not just AVATAR...extreme 3D AVATAR! It was so super awesome and it did not feel like it was long at all! The special effects were more then awesome and it was pretty much the best...EVER! Plus the very cool cute glasses you get to wear...AWESOME!

At this point I wasn't sure the day could get any better, but guess what we did next...

Watch the finale of Survivor! That was awesome for so many reasons. My pick from the very beginning won!! You go Natatlie!! Russell was so pissed and still so hard headed and stupid he couldn't see reality!! Walking all over people is not the best way to play:) That made me so happy!! I guarantee he was sitting there all ready to be like you all are so stupid see I am the best and blah blah blah...nope loser little Natalie had the game right from the beginning!!! Stupid my ass...she played exactly how I would have sit back, make an alliance, be nice and sweet to all, keep your mouth shut. I think it is great all these women who get on there and try to be all super woman and then can not understand why they get voted off in the beginning. Seriously you can not keep your mouth shut for amilliion dollars? hmmmm some power you got...lol.

I had a great day!

Nursery Love

Merry Happy Christmas!

So Lat night was interesting. A certain guest shocked all when they decided to stay dispite thier little one and wife leaving at the very reasonable time of 10 pm. I think he didn't understand that last night was CHRISTMAS EVE and NOT New Years Eve. hmmm. So sad and ended up having a domino effect on the evening. Just sad that this was Warren and I first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs. and Christmas Eve was slightly ruined by the guest welcoming themselves to stay. I should not say ruined but I did go to sleep upset and may have been crying. Warren passed out pretty quickly so he had no idea. All was made well in the Morning with Warren and I. I love my husband so very much! He is the best! Man oh man I would not want to be the guest today!!

Anyway. Santa came!!!!! He brought me my most awesome leather coat!! It is coat love. Red leather, zebra pattern, and cute little pleated details! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. (Thank you Santa!!)

That's a Wrap

Just finished wrapping gifts for the program BLMERS HELPING BLMERS. Man we thought they were crazy to reserve the room from 9am till 2pm just for wrapping. Well, it took longer than that! Crazy!

I love this program. The BLM is were I work and each year families in need can put in a application and we collect food, presents, and all the necessities for a wonderful Christmas. Best part is...it is people who work in our building with us. It all stays right here at home and helps those very close to you. No one but two people know who the families are, but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside being part of such a great program!

Little Notes

Dear Hubs,
Thank you for not being a slacker and working on our house so diligently! I really appriciate the progress made and the peace if mind knowing we will not have a half completed house for more then a year or two!

Dear Les,
So excited you can feel little Cristo inside. This means we are so close to me being able to feel Cristo kick on the outside:)

Dear Body,
Please try not to gain too much weight over the next few weeks.

Dear Self,
New goal...fit into goal jeans for Christmas.

Dear Skin,
Please stop breaking out in your wierd and rare condition of Pityrahsis Rosea. Oh and heal all the way before the cruise. Thank you!

down down baby...

Our internet is down at our house:( So all my pictures will have to wait until it is back up. It has already been a few days and we think we need a new cable box. We will see when we can get over to the company to try and fix it.
